The Thomas Fire in the Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties was one of the largest fires in California. This photo was taken on one of the smokiest days in Santa Barbara.

There were still some people out fishing on the Goleta Pier on this day, and I thought the smoke made an interesting backdrop to the fishing pole leaning on the rail.
