The Thomas Fire in the Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties was one of the largest fires in California. It might not look like it, but this photo was taken on one of the smokiest days in Santa Barbara.

The sky was split into calm blue sky and smoky orange sky. This was the calm blue side, but you can see the reflected orange hue on the pier and the beach. It was a surreal experience.
